BETRAYAL – A BACKSTABBING

Judas- Name attached with Good Friday. No one would like to identify with him or name their dear ones Judas. His betrayal is led by the evil one and he was blinded by power and money.

“When Judas, who had betrayed him, saw that Jesus was condemned, he was seized with remorse and returned the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and the elders. “I have sinned,” he said, “for I have betrayed innocent blood.” “What is that to us?” they replied. “That’s your responsibility.””
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭27‬:‭3‬-‭4‬ ‭NIV‬‬

RETURN – Judas’ return was not to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. He called Jesus an Innocent Blood, but Judas seems to have missed the opportunity to seek forgiveness but a quick fix with the priests. Many times, we return and expect to have things fixed quickly. But there is a difference between Judas’ return and Prodigal son’s return.
REMORSE – Not Repentance. What’s the difference?. Remorse is a guilt whereas Repentance is beginning of no return to old ways. Feeling guilty of sin doesn’t wipe away the sin. Repentance and seeking forgiveness from the Lord Jesus Christ does!

We do not know what Judas’ destiny would be? But let’s learn from his life and choices he made, and do not take the path of betrayal. We may think that no one can see the deed and act of private times, but God does! That’s betrayal!

My prayer for each one of us that we may be found FAITHFUL to God’s Call and Command, on the day of His Arrival.

““His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭25‬:‭21‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Amen.
