COMPASSIONATE FATHER
The psalmist David is overwhelmed with the relationship he has experienced with God. He compares that Love with the love of father for his children. One father son duo I have closely observed in last few days are Sunit (Father) and Rachit (Son).
Rachit as a 5 year child, very inquisitive and playful kid, moving around in the huge parental house and playing with his cousins. My observation was that Sunit is always aware of Rachit’s whereabouts. He exactly knew how his son would be responding to situations. His eyes and ears were attentive to the voice of his son, even when he was resting, sleeping or doing some work.
“As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him; for he knows how we are formed, He remembers that we are dust. The life of mortals is like grass, they flourish like a flower of the field; the wind blows over it and it is gone, and its place remembers it no more. But from everlasting to everlasting the Lord’s love is with those who fear Him, and His righteousness with their children’s children— with those who keep His covenant and remember to obey his precepts.”
Psalms 103:13-18 NIV
1. Father knows His children
2. Father’s ears are attentive to the cry of His children.
3. Children are defined by their Father’s Character.
This morning let’s celebrate the Love of our Heavenly Father with King David for
He CARES,
He is COMPASSIONATE and
He is a COVENANT KEEPING Father.
“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.”
1 John 3:1 NIV
