Good morning, dear family,
It took more than 20 years, but the dream that God has shown to Joseph came true. His brothers came and bowed down before him.
“Since Joseph was governor of all Egypt and in charge of selling grain to all the people, it was to him that his brothers came. When they arrived, they bowed before him with their faces to the ground.”
Genesis 42:6 NLT
THE ACCURACY – When God fulfils His plan/dream/vision/ Promise/Prophecy- He does it with complete accuracy. Not a single Word of God fails.
When Joseph spoke to his brothers, he kept his identity a secret. He could have easily arrested them for their crime and punished them but instead, he wanted to offer them an opportunity of forgiveness and reconciliation. God gives us the same opportunity to us today at the Cross of Jesus Christ.
“Speaking among themselves, they said, “Clearly we are being punished because of what we did to Joseph long ago. We saw his anguish when he pleaded for his life, but we wouldn’t listen. That’s why we’re in this trouble.” “Didn’t I tell you not to sin against the boy?” Reuben asked. “But you wouldn’t listen. And now we have to answer for his blood!””
Genesis 42:21-22 NLT
THE ACCOUNT – No sin can remain hidden from the sight of God. God convicted Joseph’s brothers of their sins. The weight of their sin was heavy upon their hearts. Like Joseph’s brothers, we all will have to give an account of our deeds. Only at the Cross all our sins are washed away and the records of our sins are erased through the forgiveness that God offers through Christ Jesus.
Let’s not wait, for the day of the Lord is near. Let’s begin this day by coming before God in honesty and truth. Let’s confess our wrongdoings in all humility and seek God’s forgiveness with repentance. God is loving and faithful and ready to forgive us our sins.
“For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable.”
