Good morning, dear family,
Joseph’s life became the reflection of a Compassionate God. God’s heart for His children is full of love and kindness. Joseph revealed his identity to his brothers and made them understand how beautifully God had orchestrated the events of their lives.
““Please, come closer,” he said to them. So they came closer. And he said again, “I am Joseph, your brother, whom you sold into slavery in Egypt. But don’t be upset, and don’t be angry with yourselves for selling me to this place. It was God who sent me here ahead of you to preserve your lives.”
Genesis 45:4-5 NLT
1. FORGIVENESS – Joseph had all the reasons to punish and avenge the wrongs his brothers had done, but when he understood the plan of God through the dream, he was able to forgive his brothers. For those who have encountered God and understood His heart of forgiveness and love, they won’t hold bitterness and anger of the past, but will extend the grace and forgiveness to everyone who hurt them or intends to hurt them.
2. FUTURE – Only God holds the future. God spoke to Abraham about his future. Though Abraham was not there to witness but Joseph’s coming to Egypt was the fulfilment of the prophecy. God has already planned our future. Today, though we may not be able to see it, He calls us to trust Him.
3. FAITHFULNESS – Joseph’s testimony is very powerful here. “It was God who sent me here …..”. Joseph experienced the faithfulness of God and he remained faithful to God. Instead of taking all the credit and glory to himself, Joseph glorified God. God has done some marvellous things in our lives, do we credit it to God?
This morning let us continue to trust God through all the trials and challenges because our God is faithful! Let us extend love and forgivess like Joseph.
