DREAM OF A DREAMER – 23

Good morning, dear family,

Conclusion Part -2

As we conclude the series on Joseph, the dreamer boy, we see the joyful fulfilment of the prophetic dreams. God’s divine ways are sometimes beyond our comprehension but He knows exactly what He is doing because He is the Potter, the Refiner, the Perfector!
Joseph brought joy to the heart of Jacob, his father. Jacob mourned the death of his son Joseph when his brothers falsely reported his death to him. Almost 25 years went by before Jacob gets to hear that Joseph is still alive.
At the age of 130, Jacob got reunited with his son Joseph. He lived another 17 years with his sons and grandchildren. And then one day Joseph took his sons to Jacob:

“Then Jacob looked over at the two boys. “Are these your sons?” he asked. “Yes,” Joseph told him, “these are the sons God has given me here in Egypt.” And Jacob said, “Bring them closer to me, so I can bless them.” Jacob was half blind because of his age and could hardly see. So Joseph brought the boys close to him, and Jacob kissed and embraced them. Then Jacob said to Joseph, *“I never thought I would see your face again, but now God has let me see your children, too!””*
Genesis 48:8-11 NLT

Two quick lessons:
1. TRUTH WILL TRIUMPH – A lie has a very short lifespan. Even if it appears to be true for a while, in the light of truth, a lie is exposed. Jacob believed his sons regarding Joseph’s death, but that lie did not take away the truth. Joseph not only lived, but God blessed him to prosper and grow. Jesus Christ warns us to be alert of the evil one while calling Satan the “father of lies”. Jesus introduces Himself “I am the way, the truth and the life”. Jesus won over death, the main lie of the evil one. The call today is to “Resolve to the Truth of God which leads us to life” and “Reject the lie of the evil one which leads us to death”.
2. TENDERNESS OF A TRUSTING HEART – A rigid and opinionated heart will forsake God and fail to see what God can do. Whereas a tender heart is ready to be moulded in the hands of God and learns to trust God. Jacob testifies that he never thought he would see Joseph again, but God has let him see his children too. Remember, Jacob held the blood stained robe of Joseph and cried over his death. He recognised the robe and thought Joseph died. Though he was blind now, he held the sons of Joseph and gave thanks to God for making it possible what he thought was impossible. At the age of 147, Jacob’s heart was still tender to trust God. What is the state of our heart? Are we able to trust God for every impossible thing in our life?

Let’s ask God for the revelation of truth to us. Half truth is equal to a lie. Let’s not allow any lie to take root in our lives and become a footstool for the evil one.

“We know that God’s children do not make a practice of sinning, for God’s Son holds them securely, and the evil one cannot touch them. We know that we are children of God and that the world around us is under the control of the evil one. And we know that the Son of God has come, and he has given us understanding so that we can know the true God. And now we live in fellowship with the true God because we live in fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ. He is the only true God, and he is eternal life. Dear children, keep away from anything that might take God’s place in your hearts.”
1 John 5:18-21 NLT

Amen 🙏
