As we conclude the series today, I am blessed with today’s verse. Even when God assured them the promised land, yet in His grace, He offered the nation of Israel a choice to make. God’s choice is not forced upon us, we have been offered a CHOICE. We may not be able to choose many things in our life, like we cannot choose our parents, family, managers, birthdays etc. But God in His grace has offered us the opportunity to choose a life of blessing
“Look, today I am giving you the choice between a blessing and a curse! You will be blessed if you obey the commands of the Lord your God that I am giving you today. But you will be cursed if you reject the commands of the Lord your God and turn away from him and worship gods you have not known before.”
Deuteronomy 11:26-28 NLT
Why am I calling it an Inheritance of Grace? We are living in the period of Grace. We do not live in any different era than that of Noah in Genesis 5 and 6, where God chose to flood the earth and wipe away every living thing. Take a look around us …….. Live in Relationships, broken marriages/ homes due to morality, LGBTQ, Crime, Rapes, Rage, Anger, Hatred, Wars…… God’s heart is pained every single day. It’s the Intercession of our Saviour Jesus Christ that has extended the period of grace for us. Jesus is offering us this grace and urging us to walk through the narrow gate – Inheritance of Grace.
““You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it.”
Matthew 7:13-14 NLT
We hear a lot of noise around us. The teachings of this world may bring doubt, confusion, distraction and lead us into making choices that are contrary to the choice of life offered by God. God, in His grace, love and affection towards us, is urging us to choose life. This love is too deep, too wide, too high for a human mind to comprehend, but God has made it clear to us on the Cross of Calvary. The Display of God’s Grace is the Prayer Jesus offered from the Cross of Calvary. Let us make that choice today to Inherit the grace offered to us at the Cross.
