LIVING IN HOLINESS

One of the expectations that God has from us is Holiness – Purity of heart with reverence for God. This call for Holiness is in the heart of the entire Bible as the God who loves us and delivers us is a Holy God.

“I am the Lord, who brought you up out of Egypt to be your God; therefore be holy, because I am holy.”
Leviticus 11:45 NIV

Living in these times when wickedness is at its prime, it is very challenging to live holy lives as expected by God. How then do we live a life of Holiness? The Only way is to abide by the Word of God. If we pause and think, we will realise that although the wickedness is increasing in this world, the availability of the Word of God is also increasing. Today God’s word is available in printed versions, digital versions, audio versions and also in Braille. Apart from that, God’s word is being taught and preached widely in different languages and people can access it through radio, social media, YouTube etc.

The Word of God is powerful and it cleanses us (John 15:3 ). It convicts us, corrects us, sanctifies us and enables us to lead holy lives. God has made this Word available to us through generations. Many have sacrificed their lives, writing, protecting, preserving and making it available for us. Even as we read this, there are still people working to translate the Word of God into lesser known dialects/languages.

We, who have access to the Word of God in different forms, should have no excuses for living holy lives in the midst of a wicked generation. We should read, meditate and allow His word to work in our lives towards holiness. So let us consecrate ourselves – set ourselves apart to the life of holiness.

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
Romans 12:1-2 NIV

May God bless you as you read the Word of God and meditate upon it.

“Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.”
2 Corinthians 7:1 NIV

Amen 🙏
