Good morning, dear family,
Yesterday evening, our discussion as a family was over the Hubble Space Telescope. The Hubble Space Telescope has revolutionized astronomy, making numerous groundbreaking discoveries and providing invaluable insights into the universe. Being able to see a part of the universe, we understand and assume the vastnesses of it.
David calls God who created this universe as My Shepherd
Psalm 23 is a favorite Psalm for many of us. Many of us know it by heart. But very few practice it every day and every moment in our lives. It’s the Psalm of David – The Shepherd who became King of Israel – let’s meditate on it to spend this last day of the month of March.
“The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.”
Psalms 23:1 NIV
1. PERSONAL – By calling God “My Shepherd”, we are speaking our personal relationship with this God of Universe. Really? Do we trust Him so much that nothing in this world matters to us more than God?
2. POSSESSION – By calling God as My Shepherd, we are declaring ourselves as a sheep in His Pasture. We declare ourselves as a Possession of Him. We shall follow His voice all the time – Do we?
3. PROVIDENCE- “I shall lack nothing” is our response to the first part of the verse. In other words, we are declaring that we do not need anything, we are content and satisfied with all He has provided. Are we?
It’s just one verse, but it brought three big questions. I am encouraged today to look into this one verse of my favorite Psalm and correct my ATTITUDE towards this Great and Merciful God of Heaven and Earth.
Let’s begin our day trusting and knowing that God is our Shepherd and He has provided everything that we need. Our limited understanding may show us lack and difficulty in our lives, but if we pronounce and trust God as our Shepherd, then in Him, we do not lack anything in this world.
Amen 🙏
