Reflections by Pavani

Before I share what is in my heart, I would like to share a small testimony. Last Sunday I was very disturbed when I came for worship since I had a small argument with my brother in the morning hence I had decided not to part take from the communion because I had not been able reconciled with him. But when it was time for communion, God powerfully ministered to my heart by assuring me that He loves me just the way I am. He wants me to be honest with him just like the Samaritan woman, who opened her heart and her life to Jesus in honesty, which powerfully transformed her life forever.  Jesus is alive, and His fragrance is resting in this room and in our lives too. God refreshes our souls. He refreshed me last week and invited me to partake from His love.

– Jesus accepts us just as we are. He doesn’t place any conditions in our lives to love us. Yes, He definitely wants us to transform but it is His love that prompts us to do so. God says that we are all like the sheep. We never see a sheep as a pet. People love to keep pets specially animals like dogs and cats are their favorite but it’s weird to keep a sheep as a pet. Here God says that we are the sheep and He is our good shepherd (John 10:11)

Lets look into the  qualities of a sheep as to why God says we are like the sheep.

– Sheep are dumb with 0% intelligence, they easily wander away, they are directionless, they cant find good food unless the shepherd takes them. Sheep is very weak, so weak that they can’t defend themselves or even fight back.

– Just like the sheep, we are also helpless, we run to our God in times of our need. Only a shepherd can rescue a sheep from the troubles. We were all dying in our sins, that is when God came for our resuce. He saved us from the death by dying in our place.

– There is nothing called a good sheep or bad sheep but there is always a good Shepherd. We are not good in ourselves, but we become good sheep because of our good Shepherd.

– In our hearts we feel we have achieved a lot, but we are exactly like the lost sheep who has lost its way into the wild world and have lost all the hopes for live. But we have the hope because we have the good Shepherd.

– When we come in the presence of God, He wants us to be honest, we have to come to Him just as we are without a mask, we have to accept that we are just a sheep, helpless and lost not knowing what to do with life. We are completely incapable of doing anything good on our own.

– This God who is our good Shepherd loves us so much that He sent His one and only son, Jesus Christ who took our place on the cross and delivered us from the evil one.
