Some electronic gadgets work better when we switch it off and switch on again. Or sometimes just the FACTORY RESET brings back the life in the gadget. Why have I started my devotion on this note? No, I am not suggesting any Factory Reset or Switch off and Switch on for us.
I call it a Spiritual Reset. Everyone is a Spiritual Being. Created by God and a dwelling place of God the Holy Spirit. Spiritual Reset is from God when we come to the Cross.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”
2 Corinthians 5:17 NIV
Many came to the Cross of Christ Jesus. There were three categories of people on the first Good Friday:
1. Visitors : They just came to see, observe and go back. They went back thinking it as a pathetic end of a Rebellion against the Roman Empire. They never understood the power of Cross, where the Only Begotten Son of God paid the ransom for their sins as well.
2. Killers and Mockers : People of this category came to Mock Jesus and kill him by crucifying at the Cross. For them, Christ always remained a Criminal and hanging on the Cross. For them, this was just another execution. Many still come to the cross and Mock Jesus Christ and return.
3. Transformed : Though majority of the crowd were in the above two categories, there are still few like the Thief, disciple John, Mary, the mother of Jesus, Mary Magdalene and the Centurion – who called Jesus the Son of God, did not go back from the Cross, but they went forward from the Cross.
The Spiritual Reset is available today for each one of us. It won’t always remain available. Let’s bend our knees, let’s ask God to help us to leave the baggage of past and sin at the Cross and —-> move forward. He is ready to do the Spiritual Reset for you and Seal you for an Eternal Life.
“Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 3:13-14 NIV
Amen 🙏
