God rested on the seventh day after His work of Creation for six days. And He called the Seventh day as Sabbath – a Day to keep Holy for the Lord. He made it as MANDATE for MANKIND to follow.
God continues to follow Sabbath, and we see it while the Israelites walked free out of Egypt and were in wilderness. God in His mercy provided Manna to them, but while they got their stomach filled, they forgot the Word of God.
The disappointment from the heart of God comes out :
Then the Lord said to Moses, “How long will you refuse to keep my commands and my instructions? Bear in mind that the Lord has given you the Sabbath; that is why on the sixth day, he gives you bread for two days. Everyone is to stay where they are on the seventh day; no one is to go out.””
Exodus 16:28-29 NIV
Many times, we forget and take God’s grace for granted. Our attitude towards God changes when we get our stomachs filled. This is due to the sin that has entered mankind, its desire is to take us away from God. Jesus Christ’s blood is powerful to take away sin and its influence from our life. We, at times, refuse to carry the Cross every day and follow Jesus.
– Command One : “Then Moses said to them, “No one is to keep any of it until morning.”
– Result One : However, some of them paid no attention to Moses; they kept part of it until morning, but it was full of maggots and began to smell. So Moses was angry with them.
– Command 2 : He said to them, “This is what the Lord commanded: ‘Tomorrow is to be a day of sabbath rest, a holy sabbath to the Lord. So bake what you want to bake and boil what you want to boil. Save whatever is left and keep it until morning.’ ” So they saved it until morning, as Moses commanded, and it did not stink or get maggots in it. “Eat it today,” Moses said, “because today is a sabbath to the Lord. You will not find any of it on the ground today. Six days you are to gather it, but on the seventh day, the Sabbath, there will not be any.”
– Result 2 : Nevertheless, some of the people went out on the seventh day to gather it, but they found none

Let’s pray for each other.
1. Let’s pray that we won’t take Gods grace at the Cross granted and we shall approach the Day of the Lord with all sincerity of Heart and humility of our Might.
2. Let’s take the Word of God with Purity of Intent and hold on to it with Joy and Submission.
