WAITING FOR GOD

Good morning, dear family,
Patience is a difficult trait. I was talking to a young colleague of mine and asked him to wait for things to turn positive, but he reverted saying, waiting is difficult for him to understand. His point was – we are here on earth for a short while and we must utilise everything possible before we call it a day.
Noah waited patiently. Though the rains stopped, the flood started receding and things started becoming better, he waited and did not haste to step out of the ark.
“After waiting another seven days, Noah released the dove again. This time the dove returned to him in the evening with a fresh olive leaf in its beak. Then Noah knew that the floodwaters were almost gone.”
Genesis 8:10-11 NLT
A couple of lessons
1. Reward of Waiting : “Be still and know that I am God” Ps 46:10- God expects us to wait upon Him in His Presence, instead of rushing and doing things our own way. Life is definitely short on this earth but running ahead of God won’t take you anywhere. Noah waited for God’s purpose to serve. He and his family were blessed.
2. Return of Peace : “Peace I give you is not what the world gives” – John 14:27. Peace from God is much greater than anyone in the world can offer. Inside the ark there was peace but outside there was crying, screaming, death and destruction. The dove carrying the olive leaf was the return of peace to the world.
3. Restart of Life : “I am the way, truth and life” –  John 14:6 Jesus’ Words are eternal. Imagine all the animals stepping out of the ark. It was not only Noah who got a reset, every animal and every bird began a new life in God’s grace. Those who believe in God would step inside the ark to start a life that is eternal. A fresh beginning is with God alone.
Today, maybe our wait is a little longer. Maybe God is expecting us to wait for the sign of the Olive Leaf before we step out of the ark. He is preparing something beautiful and marvellous for you and me. Let’s not haste but hold on to our faith, let’s wait upon God.
“For since the world began, no ear has heard and no eye has seen a God like you, who works for those who wait for him!”
Isaiah 64:4 NLT
Amen 🙏
