Sermon by – Brother Anubhav David
Definition of wisdom: Knowledge of what is true coupled with a just judgment as to action.
We can have all the knowledge in the world stored in our brains, but if we don’t know how to apply it and move that information to action, we don’t have wisdom.
Basically, we can know more than the average person, but if we don’t apply what we know appropriately, we’re foolish.
Wisdom comes from God. Psalm 111:10
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have a good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise.”
James 3:13-18 describes two kinds of Wisdom
1. Earthly wisdom which harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in our hearts denying the truth and bringing disorder in our lives.
2. Godly wisdom: Exhibiting godly wisdom means we are:
• Leading a Good or an Honorable Life
• Humble
• Selfless
• Pure
• Peace-loving
• Gentle
• Merciful
• Impartial
• Sincere
We can attain this pure wisdom for God’s Holy Word and as we learn insights from God through His Word (The Bible), we can put them into practice and influence those around us and eventually the world.
