Good morning, dear family,
Blessed is the day of the Lord!
There is no greater joy than to be in the Presence of the Lord.
Jacob returned back to his father’s land and to his brother. He ran away alone but returned with blessings. God blessed him with family, children, wealth and servants. Yet when he met Esau, he met him as a humble and submissive man. Esau also greeted him and hugged him.
“But Jacob insisted, “No, if I have found favor with you, please accept this gift from me. And what a relief to see your friendly smile. It is like seeing the face of God!”
Genesis 33:10 NLT
All his life Jacob saw his brother as an enemy and competition, but God transformed him and now he could meet his brother with love, affection and humility.
Today, let’s gather to worship God as a transformed person, holding no enmity, grudge or bitterness. Let’s approach the throne of Grace in humility and unity of hearts and minds and worship the Lord.
What Jacob did after entering the land of Canaan is very beautiful. He built an Altar and worshipped the Lord. He called upon the Name of the Lord – “El- Elohe- Israel” meaning “God, God of Israel” – the God who made it possible for him to return to his father’s home.
“Later, having traveled all the way from Paddan-aram, Jacob arrived safely at the town of Shechem, in the land of Canaan. There he set up camp outside the town. Jacob bought the plot of land where he camped from the family of Hamor, the father of Shechem, for 100 pieces of silver. And there he built an altar and named it El-Elohe-Israel.”
Genesis 33:18-20 NLT
Amen 🙏
