DREAM OF A DREAMER – 11

Good morning, dear family,

Giving glory to God during a celebration is easy but in a situation of grief and suffering, saying “Praise the Lord” is the most difficult thing. Joseph did that. He landed in a prison without any fault. He was blameless, God fearing, honest person and yet he was in prison.

But when an opportunity came, he spoke words glorifying God.

“And they replied, “We both had dreams last night, but no one can tell us what they mean.” “Interpreting dreams is God’s business,” Joseph replied. “Go ahead and tell me your dreams.””
Genesis 40:8 NLT

Many of us would have responded to the prisoners, “Do not talk to me about dreams, because of the dreams, I am in this situation”. But Joseph, who saw the dreams, had a different response. Lets meditate upon the same:

1. ACKNOWLEDGING GOD – Even when it was difficult, Joseph chose to speak the truth and acknowledged God – His Power and His wonderful Work! He did not allow the circumstances to overpower his relationship with God. Today, even when the future looks dim and unclear, trust in God who holds the future. Let us take a moment to acknowledge who God is and what all He has done for us.
2. ANOINTED OF GOD – Joseph could have easily resolved not to ever think about dreams and use the gift for anyone, including himself. But the anointed man of God, our dreamer boy, did not waste the gift of God. Even when everything was going in another direction, Joseph chose to use the gift of God to bless others. This is the key characteristic of God’s anointed one – He never stops blessing others, even in difficult times.

The passage for today’s meditation confirms that even when Joseph was of 17, he firmly believed in God’s ability to give dreams and interpret it. And after several years, when his father and mother had considered him dead and mourned for him, he was sold as a slave, he was falsely accused and sent to prison – Joseph still believed in God. The encouragement comes from Job’s life too – In the midst of his great suffering, Job raised his voice to glorify God. Can we use this day to do the same? Like Joseph and Job – In the midst of difficult times – Glorify God.

““But as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, and he will stand upon the earth at last.”
Job 19:25 NLT

Amen 🙏
